Champagne is primarily known as a traditional celebratory wine. But Champagne is so much more; it’s the pinnacle of refinement. Champagne demands enormous craftsmanship (incidentally, there are many female Champagne winemakers). You can immediately taste the slightest deviation; Champagne is pure and clean. The cool climate and chalky soil ensure high acidity, while the process of long aging on the lees creates a delicate mousse. Champagne is the perfect aperitif wine. But there are so many styles, that one can also create delicious wine and food pairings with Champagne at other times. In this Masterclass, you will learn the techniques that give each Champagne its own unique style. We will delve into the deep, cool cellars and taste young and old Champagne.
